Career Exploration & Planning, Job Search Strategies and Managing Working Life
Career Exploration and Career Planning Program
The career exploration and planning process begins with self discovery. A career
counsellor will guide you through a process which includes assessing and examining
your skill sets, strengths, weaknesses, interests, values, personality, tolerance
for risk, your willingness and/or interest in retraining, and your financial status,
amongst other things.
You are encouraged to conduct guided research about various careers. Research involves
considerations such as future labour market trends, the nature of the work, requirements
in terms of retraining, wages, etc.
Decision Making and Planning
Finally, your career counsellor will assist you in making a choice and developing
a plan which may involve retraining, moving, sourcing funding, etc.
You will finish the program with two plans: a plan that charts a pathway to reaching
your new career choice and a back-up plan, in the event that you change your mind
or there are stumbling blocks along the way.
Are you unhappy at work and wanting to make a change? Have you been downsized, right-sized,
restructured or re-organized? Are you struggling to select a career pathway? Do you
want to move to the next level? You may be confused about where to begin or unsure
of next steps.
At Counselling For Life, we have created proven programs to guide you as you make
important career decisions. We help you figure out what you want to do and we support
you as you begin to implement the steps required to get you where you want to go.
At Counselling For Life, our career counsellors work hard to help you live the life
